Wi-Fi Calling

Wi-Fi Calling is a service that allows mobile phone calls to be made over a wireless local area network (Wi-Fi) when cellular signal is limited.

The service is provided through a combination of VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi) technology and VoLTE (Voice over LTE).

Wi-Fi calling is available provided one has an active Cyta mobile plan and a device supporting VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling. Also Wi-Fi is also on and connected to a local Wi-Fi network as well as mobile data services.

Wi-Fi calling is available only for local VoLTE users.

Wi-Fi Calling can be enabled under the following provisions:

  • You need to be a subscriber of a Cyta postpaid plan
  • You need to own a compatible to VoLTE & Wi-Fi Calling device.
  • Wi-Fi service on your device is ON.
  • Your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
  • VoLTE & Wi-Fi Calling service on your device are ON as well as Mobile Data via Cyta network.

Yes, you can, if there is an internet connection.

You will notice no difference. The experience is exactly the same as the call is seamlessly transferred from a Wi-Fi network to a mobile network.

No, Wi-Fi Calling is free of charge. However, your call will be charged according to the terms of your mobile plan.

At this stage, the service is not available to soeasy customers.

The call will continue via VoLTE provided there is mobile network coverage The same applies in the opposite case and that is from VoLTE to Wi-Fi.

Wi-Fi Calling is available only for local use.

Calling to emergency numbers, such as 112 is possible.

You can deactivate Wi-Fi Calling through settings on your device.
