4G Network

Which customers can access Cytamobile-Vodafone’s 4G network?

All customers of Cytamobile-Vodafone (customers of RED, Classic, Light and soeasy) that are in a 4G coverage area and own smartphones/tablets that support 4G/LTE can access the 4G network. The coverage of the 4G network is expanding rapidly.

Do I need a new SIM card to connect to the 4G network?

There is no need for a new SIM card. The SIM cards that we have been providing can operate in our 4G network.

Which devices can connect to the 4G network?

Any device (smartphone, tablet, USB stick) compatible with 4G/LTE technology.

How do I know that I have accessed the 4G network?

The screen of a smartphone/tablet connected to a 4G network will display either 4G or LTE.

How do I know that my smartphone supports 4G?

You can check the specifications of your smartphone on the internet. If you have been keeping your smartphone up to date with the latest software upgrades, you can also check your smartphone’s settings.
If you have enabled data/mobile internet on your smartphone, you are in a 4G coverage area and "4G" or "LTE" did not show up on the screen of the smartphone, then from the "Settings” of your smartphone follow these steps:

iOS android

1. Navigate: Settings > Cellular.
2. Ensure that the Cellular Data switch is turned On.
3. Tap Voice & Data
4. Enable LTE or 4G.
If the following message appears:
“This mobile network has not been certified by the carrier for LTE on iPhone. Battery life, calls, text messages, voice mail and mobile data may be affected” ignore it and choose LTE.

1. From the section Network connections select More networks
2. Select Mobile networks
3. Select  Network mode
4. Select the option that adds LTE along with your old options. LTE may appear as 4G.

I know that my smartphone supports 4G but does not appear as an option in the settings

If your android device supports 4G, but is not displayed as an option under Network mode, then from the Settings follow these steps:

  • From the section System / System Manager, choose Device Info / About device.
  • Select Software updates/Upgrade System.
  • Select Update now/Update.
  • If there is an upgrade available, follow the steps to download and install the upgrade.
  • Then follow the steps under the question above to select the 4G network from the settings.
At my iphone I get the following message "This mobile network has not been certified by the carrier for LTE on iPhone. Battery life, calls, text messages, voice mail and mobile data may be affected".

You can ignore this message and activate LTE.

I have bought a soeasy Connection Pack. What should I do to connect to the 4G network of Cytamobile-Vodafone?

Just activate the soeasy Connection Pack according to instructions included in the Connection Pack. Then from the "Settings” of your smartphone follow these steps:

1. Navigate: Settings > Cellular.

There will be no changes in the rates.

Why does my smartphone connect to 3G or 2G when I receive or make a call?

Because your voice calls are being transmitted via the 2G and 3G network.

Can I use 4G networks while roaming abroad?

For the time being you can enjoy the 4G network only within Cyprus. It is within our roadmap to enable 4G Roaming as soon possible.

What is the geographical coverage of the 4G network?

4G network covers the urban areas of Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos as well as the tourist area of Famagusta. The rollout continues in rapid speed accommodating all the successful tests to safeguard the network reliability, always aiming maximum population and geographical coverage.

The population and geographical coverage will continue to expand rapidly throughout the next years.

What affects the speed of 4G?

The speed is affected by many parameters including the network in the area which you are, the number of concurrent users at this moment, weather conditions, if you are in motion or not, interference, etc.
