Give life to your old mobile. Recycle it!

Aiming to contribute even more to the protection of the environment, we implemented a recycling and reuse program for mobile phones and other terminal equipment.

The aim of this specific program is to raise awareness and strengthen public participation in the recycling of mobile phones and their accessories, contributing to the protection of the environment, as well as public health, by reducing uncontrolled disposal to landfills.

What does this symbol mean?

You may have seen this symbol on products, in their user guides or on their packaging. This symbol reminds us that the specific products (which can be electrical or electronic equipment, fixed, and cordless telephones, answering machines, or batteries) should not be thrown away with other household waste, but collected separately, when they are not used anymore, so that they can be managed in an environmentaly friendly way.

Protect the environment and the human health

The devices that you can recycle are: mobile phones, fixed and cordless phones, answering machines, tablets, as well as accessories, such as chargers, wearables & power banks.

Like all types of electrical and electronic equipment, these devices can contain dangerous substances and their uncontrolled disposal in the garbage can pollute the natural environment (groundwater, soil) and then, through the food chain, damage human health.

By recycling these devices, we prevent environmental pollution and give a second life to their consisted materials, such as plastic and metals, which can be reused to make other products. We thus avoid the creation of garbage and save resources such as energy, chemicals and metals.

Where can you return them and what happens next?

You can return old mobile phones and their accessories, which you no longer need, in all Cytashops where special bins have been installed for their collection. This applies not only to Cyta's customers, but also to all citizens, friends of the environment.

The equipment is received by a state authorized company. The company separates and sends away equipment forrepair and reuse, or recycling. The procedure follows the principle of circular economy which dictates that we first reduce the amount of waste, then reuse what can be reused, and finally recycle the rest.

Before returning your old phone, confirm that:

You have transferred all your personal data from your old to your new mobile phone or computer.
You deleted all personal data stored on your mobile such as your contacts, personal photos, videos, messages, etc.
You have removed the SIM card and the memory card (if present).

Cyta is not responsible for the loss or replacement of SIM cards or memory cards or for the security of personal data remaining on the returned equipment.
