Subsidized Internet Services

The Department of Electronic Communications (DEC) of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, offers a subsidy to connect consumers to internet services in Gigabit networks, which are deployed close to their premises. The total amount of the subsidy, for the first 12 months of connection to a Gigabit network, amounts to €135,72 (the amount of €120 is offered from DEC and the amount of €15,72 from Cyta) and will be granted to individuals.

The following Cyta packages on the Fiber network can benefit from the scheme:

Notes:
1. All prices include VAT.
2. The subsidy is also offered to service packages that benefit from reduced charges, such as 2nd Internet Home as well as in conjunction with discounted Internet Home plans.
3 For customers who benefit from the discount for people with special needs, the subsidy is offered from the Internet Home300Mbps service and above.
4. For customers with Internet Youth packages the subsidy is offered from the Internet Home300Mbps service and above. The 2Play Youth packages are excluded.

Terms and conditions:

The subsidy is offered to individuals for a single connection to a specific postal address. In addition, the same individual can obtain a subsidy for another property that meets the criteria.
The provision of the subsidy requires approval by the Department of Electronic Communications.
The subsidy applies to connections with a speed of 200Mbps and above in the fiber network.
The subsidy applies to new connections with a speed of 200Mbps and above in the fiber network and existing connections with a speed of less than 100Mbps that will be upgraded to a speed of 200Mbps and above in the fiber network.
The total amount of the subsidy amounts to €135,72 (the amount of €120 is offered from DEC and the amount of €15,72 from Cyta) for one year. The monthly amount of the subsidy amounts to €11,31, while for the first month of installation of the service the amount is calculated on a daily basis.
The subsidy will be deducted from the customer’s monthly bill.
In the case of a temporary disconnection, transfer or termination of the package, the subsidy will be terminated automatically.
The subsidy also applies to Internet Business400Mbps, 700Mbps and 1Gbps services.
