Cyta Tops Europe Once More
Receives 1st Prize for Bridging the Digital Divide
Cyta has once again been recognised among Europe’s best, receiving 1st Prize in the category “Champions in Addressing the Digital Divide in Rural and Remote Areas” at the European Digital Connectivity Awards 2025, held on October 7th in Brussels.
The award acknowledges Cyta’s strategic nationwide Fiber network rollout, a project implemented exclusively by Cyta to ensure equal access for all citizens to Gigabit speeds—from urban centres to the most remote communities.
Through this project, local communities are empowered, businesses are strengthened, and access to essential services such as remote education, work, and telemedicine is enhanced.
Cyta’s Chairwoman, Ms Maria Tsiakka Olympiou, stated: “Cyta’s award in Brussels is not only a corporate achievement but a national distinction that demonstrates that with vision, strategy, and targeted investments, Cyprus can take a leading role at the heart of digital Europe. Through our investments, we ensure that every citizen, wherever they are, enjoys equal opportunities to work, learn, and thrive in the modern era.”
Cyta extends its gratitude to the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy for its support. The project is co-funded by the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility.
