Internet Safety

The Internet, undoubtedly, has become part of everyone's life, since it offers significant benefits, such as communication, education, entertainment and access to infinite information. It’s safe and careful use, however, is becoming more and more necessary.

In this context, Cyta's Cybersecurity Management Centre advises you with the following instructions for the protection of your accounts:

  • Make sure that you use strong passwords, of at least 12 characters, combining letters, numbers and symbols.
  • For the security of your accounts, you must use different codes on each website and change them on a regular basis.
  • Don’t share your  passwords with others.
  •  If you notice anything suspicious that may constitute malicious activity or fraud, please contact Cyta’s Call Centre immediately.

In addition, for your safety on the Internet:

  • Don’t visit websites that are sent by unknown persons or promoted through social networks.
  • Don’t respond to emails that ask for your personal information (phishing emails) and don’t open attached files from unknown origins.
  • Make sure that you have installed and updated your antivirus software.
  • Install all the updates of your software, based on the instructions of their manufacturers.
  • Avoid connecting to public wireless networks or third-party wireless networks that you don’t trust.
  • Don’t leave your computer and other electronic exposed.
