For Cyta, equality is a fundamental part of the way we operate.

It is embedded in our people policies, decision-making processes and sustainable development strategy.
Our objective is to foster a working environment where everyone has equal opportunities to participate, develop and take on responsibility.

Cyta’s certification as an “Equality Employer” by the National Certification Body confirms the implementation of good practices in relation to:

  • equal opportunities
  • prevention of discrimination
  • evaluation systems
  • employee support and career development

For the Organisation, this certification represents both recognition of progress achieved and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Our policies are designed to respond to real needs and to remove barriers from employees’ everyday lives.
Indicatively:

  • Full remote working for new parents during the first year of their child’s life
  • Additional remote working days during the second year
  • Extension of breastfeeding facilitation
  • A structured process for a smooth return to work after long-term absence

These measures are applied on an equal basis and aim to create conditions that allow professional continuity without exclusion.

Equality data

“She can’t take on the project — she also has her parents to care for…”

SHE’S THE CEO OF HER OWN LIFE. SHE MANAGES EVERYTHING SUCCESSFULLY.

Equality Employer

“Ugh, she’s so bossy.”

IF SHE WERE A MAN, YOU’D CALL HIM DECISIVE.

Our approach to equality is also reflected in data.
In the most recent promotion processes:

  • Women filled 50% of newly appointed Director positions
  • Women filled 50% of newly appointed Head of Department positions

These outcomes are the result of improvements in evaluation processes, as well as enhanced transparency and meritocracy.

Cyta invests systematically in supporting women in the fields of science, technology and innovation.

Through initiatives such as:

  • the Women in STEAM conference
  • job shadowing programmes for female students
  • empowerment initiatives for young women in STEAM-related fields
  • “ΕΤΟΙΜΕΣ” programme, in collaboration with the non-profit organization “Be an Ally Foundation”, for final-year female students and graduates in STEAM fields

At Cyta we aim to strengthen visibility, confidence and participation among future generations.

IS MY ARGUMENT JUST MAKING YOU UNCOMFORTABLE?

Promoting equality and diversity

“They put her there just to make the panel look good.”

SHE’S HERE BECAUSE SHE’S THE MOST QUALIFIED TO RUN IT.

The social dimension of sustainability is an integral part of Cyta’s strategy.

Promoting equality and diversity:

  • strengthens decision-making
  • contributes to sustainable growth
  • creates a more resilient and effective organisation

As a public organisation, Cyta recognises its role as a point of reference for society and the labour market.

As a first step, two (2) specially designated parking spaces for expectant mothers have been created at Cyta’s Headquarters.

These parking spaces facilitate safe and convenient access to the workplace, particularly during advanced stages of pregnancy, when fatigue, reduced mobility and increased medical needs are more common.

At the same time, they help reduce the stress associated with daily commuting.

The pilot operation of a breastfeeding room has commenced on the ground floor of Cyta’s Headquarters.

The space is fully equipped, clean and private, featuring a comfortable armchair, essential support equipment for milk expression, and a refrigerator for the safe storage of breast milk.

The establishment of the breastfeeding room contributes to:

  • reducing stress during the return to work
  • facilitating the continuation of breastfeeding
  • enhancing concentration and productivity

“She’s breastfeeding all day — when does she even work?”

SHE BOTH BREASTFEEDS AND LEADS. EFFECTIVENESS DOESN’T KEEP OFFICE HOURS.
