Mr. Argyris Argyrou graduated from Acropolis Lyceum, Nicosia and obtained a Degree in Economics from the Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences (Dpt of Economics) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He then obtained a Master´s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Mediterranean Institute of Management (M.I.M.).
Between 1985-1988 Mr. Argyrou worked at Commercial Union Assurance (Cyprus) Ltd. He subsequently worked for a short period of time at the Bank of Cyprus.
Since 1989 he has been employed at CNP Asfalistiki Ltd Insurance Company (ex Laiki Insurance), in various positions, such as Head of Underwriting Dpt, Head of Limassol-Paphos Regional Offices (Administration, Underwriting and Claims). From 1994 to 2015 he held the position of Claims Manager and since 2015 he holds the position of the Manager of Claims and Reinsurance.
He served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Air Transport Licensing Authority of Cyprus between 1993 and 1999 and of Zenon National Distribution Centre Ltd (subsidiary of Cyprus Airways) between 1999 and 2003. Since 2016 he has been the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Motor Insurers Fund of Cyprus (M.I.F.) and Chairman of the Board´s Audit Committee.
He is also a member of the Bureau of the European Works Council of the CNP Assurances Group, France.
He is married and has two daughters.
In January 2019 Mr. Argyrou was appointed Member of the Board of the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (Cyta).
