Rena Rouvitha Panou
Mrs Rena Rouvitha Panou graduated from the English School Nicosia and obtained the B.Sc. Economics degree from The London School of Economics (Metcalfe Scholar). She then obtained the M. Phil. Economics degree from the University of Cambridge and the Science Master’s in Management degree (MBA) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Fulbright Scholar).
Between 1984 and 1991 Mrs Rouvitha Panou worked in senior executive positions in financial services organizations based in Boston, USA. She subsequently worked at Laiki Bank until 2006 where she held, among others, the positions of Group General Manager, Treasury & International, and Managing Director of Laiki Bank Hellas. In parallel, she was also Member of the Board of Directors of Laiki Group in Cyprus, Greece and Australia. Mrs Rouvitha Panou was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Development Bank in 2008, position which she held until 2014. She was a Member of the Board of Directors of the Vassiliko Cement Works Public Company in Cyprus between 2012 and 2014 and of Alpha Bank Cyprus between 2015 and 2016, where she was also a member of the Board’s Audit and Risk Management Committees. Since 2015 she has been a Member of the Board of Directors of Alpha Bank Romania and Chairman of the Board’s Audit and Remuneration Committees. She is also a Member of the Board of Directors of Alpha Leasing in Greece as well as the Board’s Audit Committee. In July 2016 Mrs Rouvitha Panou was appointed Chairman of the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (Cyta).
