Rena Rouvitha Panou
Mrs Rena Rouvitha Panou graduated from the English School Nicosia and obtained the B.Sc. Economics degree from The London School of Economics (Metcalfe Scholar). She then obtained the M.Phil. Economics degree from the University of Cambridge and the Science Master’s in Management degree (MBA) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Fulbright Scholar). Between 1984 and 1991 Mrs Rouvitha Panou held executive positions in management consulting / financial services firms based in Boston, USA (Director/Senior Project Leader at Siar Bossard and Consultant/Senior Manager at Agribusiness Associates). Between 1991 and 2006 she worked at Laiki Group (associate bank of HSBC) where she held, among others, the positions of Group Divisional Director, Group General Manager (International & Treasury) and Managing Director, Laiki Bank Hellas. In parallel, she was a Member of the Board of Directors of Laiki in Cyprus, Greece and Australia. Mrs Rouvitha Panou was appointed Chairman of The Cyprus Development Bank in 2008, as well as its Russian banking subsidiary, positions which she held until 2014. She was a Member of the Board of Directors of Vassiliko Cement Works Public Company in Cyprus (2012-2014), of Alpha Bank Cyprus (2015-2016) and of Alpha Bank Romania and Alpha Leasing in Greece (November 2014 until present). In July 2016 Mrs Rouvitha Panou was appointed Chairman of the state-owned Cyprus Telecommunications Cyta, a position to which she was reappointed for a second tenure in January 2019. She is also Chairman of the Management Committee of the Pensions & Grants Fund of the Personnel of Cyta.
