CYTA - MAJOR SPONSOR OF FOOTBALL

A special event was held at a Nicosa hotel on Tuesday, October 4 to mark the official announcement of CYTA’s decision to become the Major Sponsor of Football.

Amid a celebratory atmosphere in a room decorated to conjure up a football pitch, CYTA presented its detailed sponsorship programme with which it intends to become involved in Cypriot football.

Specifically, the sponsorship programme CYTA-Major Sponsor of Football includes sponsorship of the Cyprus Football Association (CFA), the Cyprus National Team, all the Division 1 teams and all three championships in Divisions 2, 3 and 4.

In the context of the special relationship that CYTA will develop with Cypriot football, the Organisation has also secured the rights to screen two Division 1 games every week on miVision.

Addressing the gathering, CYTA Chairman Stavros Kremmos noted how, in the framework of its corporate social responsibility and its involvement with society at large, CYTA has been active in the sports sector for some time and consequently could certainly not turn its back on football, which is the Cypriots’ favourite form of entertainment.

CYTA General Manager, Nicos M. Timotheou presented the CYTA-Major Sponsor of Football programme, stressing the role of football in responding dynamically to our human need for communal activity and interaction.

CFA Chairman Costakis Koutsokoumnis, for his part, thanked and praised CYTA for its decision to support football in such a decisive manner, describing the Organisation’s move as a "Hat Trick" for Cypriot football.

In the course of the evening, CYTA handed out sponsorship cheques to the CFA, the Cyprus National Team and to the 42 Division 2, 3 and 4 teams.

Present at the gathering were senior figures and representatives of the CFA, the Cyprus Sports Organisation  and clubs of all Divisions, as well as media representatives.
