Press Release: 17/2001 Upgrade of the call forwarding service for mobile telephony
The Cyprus Telecommunications Authority wishes to inform its customers that as of March 1st, 2001 it has upgraded the way in which calls to the CYTAGSM and soeasy services are forwarded to the subscriber’s voicemail or to another number.
From March 1st, when calls made to a mobile phone are about to be forwarded to the voicemail or to another number, the caller will hear the following recorded message without any charge: "Your call is being forwarded". The call will only be charged at mobile telephony local rates when the caller hears the voicemail greeting message or when the call forwarded to another number is answered.
CYTA’s aim is to notify callers when they are about to be connected to the voicemail or to another number, so that they can decide whether to proceed, or terminate the call without any charge.
