CYTAGSM & SYMPHONY
Change in the way of accessing a Voicebox
from 8 May, 2000The Cyprus Telecommunications Authority wishes to inform the customers of the CYTAGSM and the SYMPHONY services that as from 8 May, 2000, the way they access a Voicebox - whether their own in order to hear their messages or someone else's in order to leave messages - will change. Therefore, their current Voicebox number (09-1XXXXX or 09-2XXXXX for CYTAGSM and 09-3XXXXX for SYMPHONY) will no longer be valid.
Below are the new instructions for accessing a Voicebox:
How to hear your messages
1. When you are in Cyprus
a. from your mobile phone (easy access)
Dial 079<OK>
You will hear how many new messages you have, followed by the messages, one after the other.b. from a fixed or other mobile phone
Dial 079 9 XXXXXX <OK>
You will hear the greeting message, which you must interrupt.Press <#> to interrupt it.
You will be asked to enter your Voicebox Password.Press Voicebox Password <#>
You will hear how many new messages you have, followed by the selections of the main menu, including the one which enables you to hear your messages.2. When you are abroad - from your mobile (only for CYTAGSM customers) or any other phone
Press +357 79 9 XXXXXX <OK>
Then, follow the procedure described in (1b), i.e. press <#> to interrupt the greeting message and then dial Voicebox Password <#>.How to leave a message in someone else's Voicebox
1. When you are in Cyprus - from your mobile or any other phone
Press 079 9 XXXXXX <OK>
2. When you are abroad - from your mobile (only for CYTAGSM customers) or any other phone
Press +357 79 9 XXXXXX <OK>
The change in the way the customers access a Voicebox will be done by CYTA automatically and will not affect any type of Call Forwarding to their Voicebox. If they should wish to change the settings of the Call Forwarding facility in the future, they will have to enter the number 079 9 XXXXXX, instead of the current Voicebox number.
In the case they have saved their Voicebox number on their SIM card or in their mobile’s memory for easy recall, on 8 May,2000 they will have to change it to 079, if they are in Cyprus, or +357 79 9 XXXXXX, if they are abroad.
It is noted that XXXXXX denotes the phone number, whereas the "+" symbol represents the prefix for international calls. To enter it, the customers should refer to their mobile phone user manual.
