CYTAGSM: Access to the Internet
via the "CytaNet For All" serviceThe Cyprus Telecommunications Authority wishes to inform the customers of the CYTAGSM service that as from March 20, 2000, access to the Internet via the “CytaNet For All” service will be offered commercially. The “CytaNet For All” service is offered without a monthly subscription and the CYTAGSM call charges for using the “CytaNet For All” service are 7 cents per minute during peak hours (07:00-20:00) and 5 cents per minute during off-peak hours (20:00-07:00).
Those interested, may be connected to the Internet by entering cytanetforall as the user name and 0992626 as the phone number.
For access to the Internet via the CYTAGSM network the user must first be a subscriber of the mobile telephony Data service. CYTA wishes to remind its customers that certain special equipment is required for using the Data service. This equipment may vary according to the type of mobile phone used.
Usually, the following equipment is needed:
It is noted that the above equipment or part of it is already embedded in some types of mobile phones.
- A mobile phone supporting the Data service
- A portable computer with a PCMCIA slot type II and upwards
- A PCMCIA card with a mobile phone / portable computer interconnecting cable
- Software
For further information customers may visit any of our Customer Service Offices or call our Customer Service Centre on 132 during office hours. For information regarding their connection to the Internet, customers may call our Call Centre on 0800 8080 (from Monday to Friday between 08:00-21:00 and Saturday between 10:00-17:00).
